Anchorage's Margot Adams helped set a new UAF swimming record and tied one of her own school records Thursday at the NCAA Division II championships in Geneva, Ohio.
Adams led UAF with a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter butterfly, tying her school record with a time of 54.62 seconds.
Adams was also part of the Nanooks' 400 medley relay that finished eighth in 3:46.76. The foursome, including Adams' sister Victoria, Nga Nguyen and Bente Heller, set a UAF record of 3:45.18 during Thursday's preliminaries.
That makes three school records the Adams sisters had a hand in setting during the competition's first two days. On Wednesday, Victoria set a UAF record in the 200 IM and both swam legs of the Nanooks' record-setting 200 medley relay.
On Thursday, Victoria Adams also swam a leg of the 200 freestyle relay that took 14th in 1:35.74 -- just three-hundreths of a second off a UAF record.
