AROUND THE HORN
Friday's Games

Pilots 5, Miners 4 (10)

Justin Protacio hit a walk-off single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Pilots to a 5-4 win over the visiting Miners.

Protacio finished with three hits and two RBIs.

The Pilots took a 4-2 lead in the sixth inning. The Miners scored two in the eighth to tie the game at 4-4.

Kyle Nelson threw two hitless innings to earn the win.

Bucs 6, Chinooks 1

Mark Krueger smacked a three-run home run to lead the Bucs past the Chinooks 6-1 in Chugiak.

Both teams managed just six hits apiece -- the Bucs used four pitchers while the Chinooks used three.

Oilers 6, Monarchs 6

Four players homered in a Kenai ballpark where home runs are typically hard to come by in a 6-6 tie between the Oilers and Monarchs.

Jordan Sanford, AJ Hernandez and Gabriel Munoz all homered for the Oilers while Jack Veasey went yard for the Monarchs.

It was the second tie in as many days for the Michigan team, which battled the Miners to a 3-3 tie on Thursday.

Goldpanners 13, Seals 4

Eric Hutting had two hits -- including a three-run home run -- and six RBIs to lead the Panners past the Seals 13-4 in Fairbanks.

The nonconference win was the Panners' first of the season.
