Alaska Communications employees handoff toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Marines Tuesday, Dec. 11. in hope of bringing Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in Alaska.

Location: Anchorage, AK, 12/4/2012f Northrim bank employees hosted an online and live white elephant auction to raise funds for Alaska non-profit organizations. In Anchorage, the $9.736.50 raised was split between The Salvation Army McKinnell House & Children's Lunchbox. On behalf of The Salvation Army, we offer our sincere thanks for this wonderful gift, which will help us meet the needs of homeless families in our community, especially at this critical time of year.

Location: 2013 Miss Alaska USA Pageant and 2013 Miss Alaska Teen USA Pageant, 12/01/12 Kimberly Agron of Anchorage, Alaska was crowned Miss Alaska Teen USA 2013 and Melissa McKinney of Anchorage, Alaska was crowned Miss Alaska USA 2013 on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts Discovery Theatre. The 2013 Miss Alaska Teen USA Pageant is the official preliminary to the national 2013 Miss Teen USA Pageant. The 2013 Miss Alaska USA Pageant is the official preliminary to the national 2013 Miss USA Pageant. The pageant hosts were Eddie P and Ariel Tweto, with entertainment by the Underground Dance Company, Veronica Temple, and former American Idol contestant Mikalah Gordon. Placements for the 2013 Miss Alaska Teen USA Pageant include, Whitney Williams of Anchorage - 4th Runner Up, Brooke Cusack of Anchorage - 3rd Runner Up, Clara McConnell of Kotzebue - 2nd Runner Up, and Madison McKean of Anchorage - 1st Runner Up. Placements for the 2013 Miss Alaska USA Pageant include, Ardrienna Everett of Anchorage - 4th Runner Up, Emma Halsey of Anchorage - 3rd Runner Up, Anastasia Khadjinova of Anchorage - 2nd Runner Up, Jenny DiGrappa of Fairbanks - 1st Runner Up. Additional awards include, the Miss Photogenic Award to Anastasia Khadjinova, and the Miss Congeniality Award voted on by the contestants to Kammi Carlson of Kenai.
