The names of Alaska State Trooper Tage Toll and Village Public Safety Officer Thomas Madole were added to the memorial. Madole was shot and killed in Manokotak on March 19, and Toll was killed in a helicopter crash on March 30 that also claimed the life of pilot Mel Nading. Nading, longtime pilot of Alaska State Trooper Helo-1, was included by name in the ceremony. Additional ceremonies will take place May 15 in Fairbanks and Juneau.

Peters, with son Lucas, 7, is the daughter of James Moen, a Fish and Wildlife Protection officer who died in a plane crash in 2001. The names of Alaska State Trooper Tage Toll and Village Public Safety Officer Thomas Madole were added to the memorial. Madole was shot and killed in Manokotak on March 19, and Toll was killed in a helicopter crash on March 30 that also claimed the life of pilot Mel Nading. Nading, longtime pilot of Alaska State Trooper Helo-1, was included by name in the ceremony. "These fallen have left us with many holes in our hearts," said Alaska Department of Public Safety Commissioner Joseph Masters. Additional ceremonies will take place May 15 in Fairbanks and Juneau.
