A memorial dedication ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, near the site along the Glenn Highway where APD Officer Justin Wollam was tragically killed while responding to a call of reports of a drunk and reckless driver on July 9, 2001. At the site along the Glenn Highway near JBER-Richardson, a plaque states "the suspect deliberately drove across the median into Officer Wollam's lane, colliding head-on into Officer Wollam's vehicle." The suspect and two other teenagers were killed in the collision.
