My annual plea for sparing pets the trauma of fireworks has added urgency this year: After a record month of wildfires in the state, Anchorage police are taking a “zero-tolerance” approach to fireworks this year. Though burn bans have been lifted in parts of the state, fireworks remain off limits in the Municipality of Anchorage.
