2008 Run for Women

Blood Bank of Alaska staff along with their friends and families gathered at the Alaska Run for Women, June 14. More than 30 friends and coworkers participated in the run to honor the memory of longtime Blood Bank of Alaska employee Gaye Hurley. Staff wore pink tshirts to commemorate Hurley and increase awareness of the role Blood Bank of Alaska plays in fighting breast cancer. Blood Bank of Alaska technical writer, Laura Carpenter, ranked 7th overall taking second place standing for her age group. She finished at 32:38:65. This was her third year participating in the race.
