Marc Lester A dead beluga whale floats in Turnagain Arm a couple miles south of Beluga Point Thursday evening. Barbara Mahoney, biologist with the National Marine Fisheries Service, said authorities were not able to determine the cause of death. Local Alaska Natives were able to salvage some of the whale before it floated out farther into Turnagain Arm, she said.
