Anchorage symphony opener long on entertainment
Anchorage Symphony Orchestra personnel had reason to smile at the first concert of the season on Saturday night. The 2,200-seat Atwood Concert Hall was sold out and, we were told, 75 percent of those in attendance have tickets for the rest of the season.

Prehistoric pageantry
Dinosaurs have taken over the Sullivan Arena. For the next few days, stegosauruses, allosauruses, torosaurus (an adult triceratops) and Tyrannosaurus rex are taking center stage as part of "Walking With Dinosaurs: the Arena Spectacular."

Annual iron pour takes place today in Wasilla
Things will get hot in the Valley today -- like 3,000 degrees. In what's becoming an annual tradition, a group of talented, brave and very careful people will pour molten iron at the Art on Fire festival at the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry just north of Wasilla.

In May 2009 the first issue of F Magazine popped up in a handful of Anchorage locations. The small, local arts magazine was the latest in countless attempts that have been made over the years to introduce and sustain an Alaska arts journal.
