Annual iron pour takes place today in Wasilla
Things will get hot in the Valley today -- like 3,000 degrees. In what's becoming an annual tradition, a group of talented, brave and very careful people will pour molten iron at the Art on Fire festival at the Museum of Alaska Transportation and Industry just north of Wasilla.

Free symphony concert is set for Saturday
Live orchestra music is in short supply in Anchorage right now. But on Saturday there will be a free concert featuring the Anchorage Youth Symphony and the Young People's Symphony Orchestra of California. The time is 8 p.m. The place is the Discovery Theatre.

"About Face: The Story of Gwendellin Bradshaw," produced by Affinityfilms, Inc., directed by Alaska filmmaker Mary Katzke, has won an award of excellence from The Accolade Competition. The award was given in the Feature Documentary category.
