Dunleavy official jumps to Sullivan re-election campaign

Matt Shuckerow, former press secretary to Gov. Mike Dunleavy, will become manager of U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan’s re-election bid starting today. Sullivan has not officially begun his re-election campaign, Shuckerow said by phone.

Shuckerow announced his new role as Sullivan’s campaign manager by email on Monday evening. He had previously said he would be leaving his position as press secretary at the middle of the month but had not disclosed his next position.

Before becoming Dunleavy’s press secretary at the start of the year, Shuckerow was Sullivan’s deputy communications director. He has also served as communications director for Rep. Don Young and press secretary for Sen. Lisa Murkowski before joining Sullivan’s office.

Dunleavy has not yet named a replacement for Shuckerow.
