Track Palin, Britta Hanson file for divorce in Alaska

The cable TV channel TMZ reports that 23-year-old Track Palin, eldest son of former half-term Alaska governor and vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, and his high school sweetheart and wife, Britta Hanson, have filed for divorce with an Alaska court after a short stint of married life.

Palin and Hanson were wed at Southcentral Alaska's scenic Hatcher Pass in May of 2011. At the time the pleased families made a joint statement to Us Weekly, announcing that Army reservist Palin and nursing student Hanson "are two hard working, humble, active, studious young adults who grew up together." Adding, "We're tickled that after two decades of friendship we proudly witnessed their marriage, knowing their new life together will be blessed."

Palin and Hanson's joint filing, in accordance with Alaska state law, means that the pair agree to custody, property and child-support terms. Hanson and Palin have a 1-year-old daughter, Kyla Palin, together.
