Alaska State Troopers on Monday identified the woman killed in a Sunday afternoon truck accident on the Seward Highway as Mary Gillick, of Soldotna.
Gillick, 76, was a passenger in the Ford F-150 driven by her husband, 78-year-old Charles Gillick. The southbound pickup drifted off the highway near the intersection with the Sterling Highway at about 1:30 p.m., striking an embankment, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Mary Gillick was pronounced dead while being transported to a hospital, troopers said. Charles Gillick was taken to a local hospital and treated for life-threatening injuries.
A trooper spokeswoman did not immediately know Charles Gillick's condition on Monday.
The accident closed the Seward Highway for about one hour Sunday.
