The NAHL's Midwest Division-leading Fairbanks Ice Dogs today got a bonus from their recent three-game sweep of the visiting Minnesota Magicians -- defenseman Nick Hinz was named the division's Star of the Week.
Hinz, 20, had one goal and three helpers in the series, and was +5. For the season, he's 2-12--14 in 38 games, and his +24 rating is tied for second on the circuit.
The second star went to Kenai River Brown Bears goaltender Zach Quinn, 19, who went 2-1-0 against the Wenatchee Wild, with a 2.00 goals-against average and .953 save percentage. Overall, he's 13-13-1 with a 2.45 and a .925 that ranks 10th in the league.
