Runners set out when ready at the Skinny Raven Pub Run on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, in downtown Anchorage. Participants could register at 5 p.m. and then were encouraged to head onto the 5-kilometer course by 6 p.m., finishing up at McGinley's, Flat Top Pizza & Pool or Snow Goose Restaurant.

West and South each came away with two winners apiece Friday, a day when eight high school runners claimed victories at Russian Jack Springs Park. Separate boys and girls races were held for each grade — freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. Clocking the fastest times in the 3-kilometer races were Ty Jordan, a junior from Chugiak, and Morgan Lash, a junior from South.

UAA hosts Willamette University of Salem, Oregon, in the lone Seawolves cross-country running meet of the year on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, on the Beach Lake Trails at Chugiak.
