Skinny Raven's stylish sister store, Her Tern, is celebrating five years of classing up its downtown Anchorage corner with a birthday party -- well, actually, they're calling it their Quincennial Soiree -- this Friday, Sept. 3. Stop by between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. for refreshments from Fire Island, Cupcake Delight and Crush and music by DJ Encyclopedia Brown -- plus, you know, shopping. The event features locally-made jewelry by HoughtonHill (I have a pair of her freshwater pearl earrings, from a gift bag at a SoNo fashion show a few years back, that go with everything) and a fashion show at 7 p.m.
