Kaladi Brothers' New Year's Day fundraiser will benefit local charities

Mostly-local Kaladi Brothers Coffee will donate 100 percent of drink sales to charity this Saturday, New Year's Day. This annual fundraiser gave more than $10,000 to Ma'o Tosi's AK PRIDE after-school program last year. This year Kaladi aims to raise a total of $15,000 for local and national charities.

All Kaladi Brothers locations will feature baristas working for tips, with proceeds from sales going to a variety of nonprofits, depending on the location of the store. The Anchorage locations will benefit Kids' Kitchen, which provides daily meals to youths around Anchorage. The Wasilla location's proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the two Soldotna locations will donate to the Kenai-based Stitches of Love, which prepares handmade quilts for foster children.
