Sally Hokanson placed second overall during the Wooden Ski Classic sponsored by Sons of Norway and the Nordic Ski Association of Anchorage was the first race of the AMH Anchorage Cup, a non-points race, held at Russian Jack Springs Park on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014. Skiers were encouraged to wear traditional Scandinavian wool costumes and use wood skis and bamboo poles during the annual event.

Mark Iverson and Sally Hokanson dominated their respective divisions at the Wooden Ski Classic 4-kilometer Nordic ski race at Russian Jack Park on Sunday. The men's and women's division champions finished 1-2 overall.

James Falconer (16:51) was second in the men's division and Tully Hammer (17:19) was third. Erin Hamilton finished in 18:52.8 to place second in the women's division ahead of Cindy Decker in third.

The race was the first of the 2014-15 season for the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage's AMH Anchorage Cup race series and featured racers decked out in vintage cross country ski gear, including wooden skis, burly Nordic sweaters and wool hats. The next race in the series is a sprint relay scheduled for Dec. 7 at Kincaid Park.
