The third annual Salmon Daze festival was held in a new location this year -- the Anchorage Museum Quad.

Vendors filled the lawn and the smell of grilling salmon wafted across the green. Radio personality Alice Welling worked the crowd dressed as "Sockeye Sally," a giant salmon with fish eggs on her head.

Live music entertained visitors throughout the afternoon, with performances by Michael Howard, Dan Pascucci and others.

In addition to the entertainment, there was also a class on canning salmon, put on by the University of Alaska cooperative extension service.
