Photos: Alaska Aces Vs. Idaho Steelheads Hockey

The Alaska Aces made progress Wednesday night, when they emerged from their goal-scoring funk and shed a two-game losing streak, yet could not unburden themselves of a winless streak.

So it goes in pro hockey, where every game becomes a three-point game in the standings when regulation does not suffice, as was the case for the first time in Alaska's four ECHL games this season.

After scoring two goals in an early third-period span of 89 seconds, the Aces turned over the puck and surrendered the game-tying strike with less than four minutes left, then fell in a shootout, 4-3, to the Idaho Steelheads.
