The Alaska Aces dropped five banners at Sullivan Arena on Friday night to signify their substantial success last hockey season. And then the Ontario Reign promptly dropped a 3-1 opening-night setback on the Aces in what proved less than a banner night for the ECHL's defending champions. After the Aces displayed the franchise's third Kelly Cup on the Sullivan Arena rink in a nine-minute pregame ceremony, the Reign used a first-period goal and two quick strikes in the second period to drop the Aces in a 3-0 ditch.
