Oceanview Elementary School students and parents gathered at Oceanview Park for Bike to School Day on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Over 100 students participated in the ride, and district-wide over 2,000 students biked to school during the annual event.

More than 100 students from Ocean View Elementary School rode their bikes to school on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.

They were joined as they rode from Ocean View Park to Ocean View Elementary by Olympians Sadie Bjornsen and Erik Bjornsen and Paralympic athlete Andrew Kurka.

Bike to School Day promotes bicycling safety, safe routes to school and environmental and community benefits. Organizers hope to increase awareness of healthy activities and prepare students for a safe summer season of bicycling.

Students across the country participate in Bike to School Days as part of the celebration of National Bike Month.
