The South Wolverines took command of the Cook Inlet Conference wrestling championships Friday at Chugiak, claiming an 88-point lead and advancing a meet-best eight wrestlers to the championship finals.
South amassed 257 points on the first day of the meet. Service is next with 160 and East is a close third with 164.5, and both of those teams placed six wrestlers in the finals.
The Wolverines dominated the middleweights and will have a wrestler in seven straight weight classes, from 113 pounds to 152 pounds.
