Photos: Courthouse weddings, just in time for Valentine's Day

Abraham Palacios and Cori Eide were running ten minutes late on Friday. They hustled into courtroom 49 in Anchorage's Boney Courthouse and apologized to law clerk and ceremony officiant Rachel Espejo. She put them at ease. They had twenty minutes left – plenty of time to get married, sign documents, take pictures and kiss.

They appeared to enjoy every minute of the moment they had been planning since, well, Thursday. It was then that they came to the court to schedule the ceremony and were notified of a rare cancelation for the following day.

"They looked at us like, 'Well, would you guys be able to do it tomorrow?'"

"I felt we could do it," Palacios said.

They were the first of three weddings that the Alaska court system hosted in Anchorage on Friday, each conducted by Espejo. It was an exciting change of pace from the pain and drama that unfolds at the Boney and Nesbett courthouses each day.
