Few things in Alaska large-school prep football this season have proved as tenuous as the No. 1 ranking, which has been as fluid as a turnstile.
Each team perched in the top spot was quickly spun off the throne. South and Bartlett each lasted just a week, West held on for two weeks and Chugiak's one-week reign ended Saturday afternoon in steady rain and occasional wind at Dimond Alumni Stadium.
No. 4-ranked Dimond, sparked by quarterback Kyle Hendrickson's two touchdown runs and two touchdown passes, beat No. 1 Chugiak, 40-32, in a Cook Inlet Conference game.
