Photos: Matt Carle competes for the Stanley Cup

Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Matt Carle of Anchorage is in the NHL's Stanley Cup Final for the second time in his career, and again facing the Chicago Blackhawks.

Carle played for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010 when they lost to Chicago in six games. Carle, who at the University of Denver won two NCAA Division I national championships (2004, 2005) and won the Hobey Baker Memorial Award as college hockey's best player (2006), has played nine full seasons in the world's best hockey league.

His 767 combined NHL regular-season and playoff games rank second among Alaskans, trailing only two-time Cup winner Scott Gomez of Anchorage (1,194 combined games).
