Photos: A memorable Iditarod finish in Nome

The 2014 running of the Iditarod was remarkable in many ways, so it's fitting that the race came to a memorable conclusion, with Dallas Seavey seizing his second victory in three years, just 2 minutes and 22 seconds ahead of runner-up Aliy Zirkle.

The pair braved a storm that knocked then-leader Jeff King out of the race just outside the final checkpoint of Safety, to compete along the final stretch of trail along the Bering Sea coast into Nome.

Both Seavey and Zirkle bested the previous Iditarod record, set in 2011 by John Baker by several hours.
