The UAA men's basketball team countered Montana State-Billings' second-chance prosperity in the first half Thursday night with a second-half explosion.

The latter trumped the former, and the Seawolves seized their fifth straight Great Northwest Athletic Conference victory with an 82-68 win at the Alaska Airlines Center.

Senior guard Travis Thompson, UAA's leading scorer, spearheaded UAA's second-half surge from a 34-32 halftime deficit. He racked 14 of his team-high 23 points inside the opening five minutes on three 3-pointers and five free throws to deliver a 50-40 lead.
