Penn State rebuffed UAA's early comeback and bagged a 5-2 nonconference hockey win Friday night at Sullivan Arena.
Penn State (7-2-2) regained its equilibrium, and knocked UAA (6-4-1) off stride, with a pair of second-period goals that afforded it a 4-2 lead.
Ricky DeRosa took a drop pass from Tommy Olczyk about four minutes into the period and rifled a wrister past Mantha from the left circle. Later, Curtis Loik led a 2-on-1, eschewed the pass and fired a wrister from the left circle to give the Nittany Lions their second two-goal margin of the game.
