Greek Folk dancers perform at the Annual Greek Festival

The 22nd annual Alaska Greek Festival is being held at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church this weekend (Friday through Sunday, Aug. 19-21). Greek Folk dancers from the church will perform traditional dances in costumes from the Greek islands. Both dance groups, Asterakia Tou Vora group, "Little Stars of the North," and Vorio Sellas, "Northern Lights," will perform on Sunday at at 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The event also includes cooking demonstrations, church tours and live Greek music by Synthesi.
