A pair of Alaska boys soccer teams will vie for regional titles next month at the U.S. Youth Soccer Far West Championships in Boise, Idaho.
Anchorage and Kenai will both send teams to the June 20-26 tournament.
Anchorage's Cook Inlet Soccer Club 98 team will play in the U-18 tournament, and the Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club's Thunder 03 squad will play in the U-13 tournament.
Both teams advanced by winning state championships. They are among 212 boys and girls teams that will play in the Boise tournament.
The Far West region includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The regional champions will advance to the national tournament in Frisco, Texas, in July.
