Two wins put Lamoreaux in lead of cycling stage race

Jason Lamoreaux, winner of two of the first three races, is the biker to beat going into Sunday's final race in the Arctic Bicycle Club's Spring Stage Race.

Lamoreaux won Saturday's Fort Richardson criterium and Friday's Potter Valley hill climb and was second in Saturday's Elmendorf time trial. He has 44 points going into Sunday's Ruff Road criterium at JBER.

In second place in the men's open division is Richard Tilton with 38 points. Tilton won the Elmendorf time trial, was second in the criterium and fourth in the hill climb.

In the women's open division, Stacey Kolstad won both of Saturday's race. In Friday's hill climb, Sheryl Loan dominated Kolstad to take the victory, but Loan didn't race in either of Saturday's events.

Bakker, Ohlendorf cruise in triathlon

Mick Bakker and Summer Ohlendorf dominated the Why Not Tri sprint triathlon Saturday in Wasilla.

Bakker won the race in 50 minutes, 5 seconds. Ohlendorf was tops among women and second overall in 54:10, more than three minutes ahead of men's runnerup Scott Pessetto.
