Smith speeds through orienteering sprint event

Cory Smith dominated at the Summer Solstice Sprint O orienteering meet Wednesday at Ruth Arcand Park, finishing all the controls in 28 minutes, 20 seconds for a score of 620.

He finished all the controls well before the 45-minute time limit.

A total of five individuals and one team found all the controls in the allotted time, with Brittany Hippe finishing first in the women's field.

Approximately 50 people participated in the event.
