Briana Sullivan of Girdwood defended her women's title and Dugan Greenwell of Anchorage earned his second ultra-distance win in eight days with victories over the weekend in the Kesugi Ridge Traverse backcountry ultra-distance race in Denali State Park.
Sullivan covered the roughly 30-miler in rainy, windy conditions in 6 hours, 14 minutes, 21 seconds. She topped runner-up Jan Tomsen (6:28:38), and 2014 winner and race record-holder Christine Haupert (7:12:59).
Greenwell clocked 5:46:47 to edge runner-up Simon McLoughlin (5:50:08) by about three minutes. Martin Schuster took third in 6:17:16.
Greenwell a week earlier captured the overall victory in the Resurrection Pass 50-miler.
Twenty-one runners completed the race.
