Chugiak 3, West 1
After dropping the first set, Chugiak rallied for a four-set victory over West in a Cook Inlet Conference volleyball matchup Thursday at Chugiak.
The Mustangs won 20-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-12.
Karlie Jones, Emily Moorehead and Claire Schimmack paced the Mustangs with eight kills apiece.
Moorehead added 10 digs and Rebekah Henckel tallied 22 digs for Chugiak.
Danika Brown led West with seven kills.
Kelsey Ross (23 assists), Jackie Suka (13 digs, 4 aces) and Brooke Dexter (4 blocks) also contributed for the Eagles.
East 3, South 2
Fueled by Daisy Page's 19 kills and 31 digs, East's volleyball team sparked a rally Wednesday night to beat host South in a Cook Inlet Conference match that went the full five sets.
East prevailed 17-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-22, 15-12.
Karlee Lynd aided East with nine kills — she's didn't commit a hitting error — and four aces. Leona Tau'ese racked 27 digs.
Morgan Thompson paced the Wolverines with 11 kills, Zoey Keene registered five blocks and Sarina Mancari furnished 41 digs.
