Anchorage’s Nate Thompson on the move again, this time to LA Kings

Anchorage's Nate Thompson was traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday as part of a four-player deal.

The Senators sent Thompson, a forward, and Dion Phaneuf, a defenseman, to Los Angeles in exchange for forwards Marian Gaborik and Nick Shore.

"Nate has a good reputation of being a high-energy player on the ice. Both guys are also high character guys," Kings vice president and general manager Rob Blake said in an announcement of the trade on the team's website.

Thompson, 33, is an NHL veteran who has played 593 games for six teams — Ottawa, Tampa Bay, Anaheim, Boston and the New York Islanders.

Thompson joined the Senators as a free agent during the offseason. He has been out the lineup recently due to a lower-body injury.
