Miners dig out of hole, beat Bucs

A three-run rally in the seventh inning lifted the Mat-Su Miners to a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over the Anchorage Bucs on Thursday night at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.

Story tools

Joe Ercolano and Brent Milleville drove in the first two runs and Daniel Magness collected the game-winning RBI with a ground out.

The win allowed the Miners to maintain their half-game lead in the Alaska Baseball League over the Peninsula Oilers, which beat Athletes in Action 8-1.

Reliever Mark Grbavac pitched three innings, giving up two hits and one run, to earn the win. Closer Greg Keim worked the final two innings to earn the save.

The Bucs had taken a 4-2 lead in the sixth on Robert Taylor's solo shot.
