AROUND THE HORN

-- The Bucs plated five runs in the first inning, and never looked back, defeating the Oregon Black Sox 11-4 Tuesday at Mulcahy Stadium.

Outfielder Kellen Kiilsgaard highlighted the first inning with a three-run triple.

PItcher Forrest Snow of the University of Washington -- who arrived in Anchorage late Monday night -- struck out three batters and picked up the win.

-- Trevor Hairgrove hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to give the Glacier Pilots their first lead against the Athletes in Action at Mulcahy Stadium.

The Pilots captured a 6-3 come-from-behind Alaska Baseball League victory, improving their conference record to 3-0 and their overall record to 4-4.

Pitcher Logan Darnell earned the win and teammates Drew Hyde and Manny Reyes each contributed three hits, one double and two singles.

-- Tied with the Michigan Monarchs in the sixth inning, the Penninsula Oilers' Caleb Bushyhead smacked a line drive to right field for a double, earning the Oilers a one-run lead they held to win 5-3 at Coral Seymour Memorial Ballpark.

Tom Briner picked up the win -- was the Oilers' third consecutive victory.

Bushyhead finished with two base hits, one double and one RBI.
