-- Pitcher Erik Miller allowed four hits over seven innings to help the Anchorage Bucs to a 6-1 victory Monday night, pulling them within a half-game of first place in the Alaska Baseball League.
The Bucs got two runs in the sixth inning, which proved to be enough against the weak-hitting Oilers, who are batting .220.
The Bucs got three runs in the seventh inning on two hits and three walks.
Jason Martinson, a sophomore shortstop from Texas State, powered a home run over the right field fence to cap a dominant win for the Bucs.
Anchorage's two teams, which sit atop the ABL, meet four times July 2-4.
