Ercolano hits game-winner for Miners in 11th

Joe Ercolano singled home Ben Price in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Mat-Su Miners a win Thursday at Hermon Brother's Field in Palmer.

Price walked to lead off the inning. Ercolano's go-ahead hit was his second in as many nights.

Bryce Morrow, Max Peterson and Matt Montgomery combined for five innings of scoreless relief for the Miners, following George Brown's six-inning, no-run, no-hit, five-strikeout performance.

Oiler starter Tyler Fleming tossed eight shutout innings, giving up two hits.

Pilots 2, AIA 1

Bernard Williams' two-out RBI single in the ninth inning proved the difference for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots, sending them to a victory at Growden Memorial Field in Fairbanks.

Mike Murphy of the Pilots hit a sacrifice fly in the second inning to give Anchorage a 1-0 lead that held until the ninth.

Left-handed starter Michael Alldredge pitched seven innings, scattering eight hits and getting three double plays behind him.

Anchorage's Chad Crosswhite recorded his first save, working two innings and allowing AIA's only run on wild pitch.

The loss snapped AIA's three-game winning streak. The Fire won the three-game series 2-1.

Bucs 5, Fairbanks 4

Kyle Morgan walked on four pitches Thursday night to force in the winning run and propel the Anchorage Bucs into second place in the Alaska Baseball League standings.

The walk-off walk came in an inning without the benefit of a base hit as the Goldpanners walked three Bucs and hit another in the bottom of the ninth.

Mitch Bialosky got the win to move to 2-0.

Logan Schafer tied the game 4-4 in the eighth with a solo home run and Gabe Jacobo lined a two-run home run in the fourth inning.

Chugiak 12, West 2

Matt Sullivan and Doug Henie each doubled for Chugiak in its nonleague win at Oberg Field.

Chugiak starter Casey Spink pitched three innings to pick up the win in the five-inning mercy-rule shortened game.
