Mat-Su Miners outfielder Carl Uhl scored in the first inning and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth to back Joe Matteo's complete game in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.

Uhl started the game with a bunt single and scored on Joey August's RBI groundout.

Matteo allowed a run on five hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

Clay Calfee doubled, singled and had an RBI for the Bucs.

Miners 4, Bucs 3

Ryan Conan and Derek Helenihi singled home runs in the bottom of the eighth to complete a comeback victory in the nightcap for a doubleheader sweep.

Chris Cullen picked up the save as the Bucs left runners on first and third in the ninth.

the Bucs outhit the Miners 11-7.

AIA 7, Pilots 3

Athletes in Action's Justin Wood (4-1) threw eight strong innings as AIA pounded out 10 hits in a win over the Anchorage Glacier Pilots at Mulcahy Stadium.

Oilers 2, Panners 1

Jim Pollack hit an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Peninsula Oilers over the Fairbanks Goldpanners at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

The Goldpanners run came on an RBI hit from first baseman Sean Bard that scored centerfielder Brent Wyatt in the top of the third inning.

Oilers third baseman Juan Martinez evened the game in the bottom of the fourth, driving in center fielder Nick Buss, who went 3 for 4.
