Prep hockey: Wins for Service, Dimond

Service 4, East 2

Service scored two goals in the third period, including an empty-netter with 79 seconds left, to claim a 4-2 win over East in a Cook Inlet Conference hockey game Tuesday at Ben Boeke Arena.

Chris Burnett scored the game-winner for the Cougars with nearly seven minutes left in the game. Lachlan Cockrell added insurance about five minutes later by scoring into an empty net, his second goal of the game.

The game was tied 1-1 after one period and 2-2 after two. Lane Fox made 28 saves for East, and Kevin Taunton stopped 10 shots for Service.

Nicholas Eddes and Laauli Tosi provided goals for East. Blaine Sharrock scored Service's other goal and Johnathon Stephens got two assists.

Dimond 17, Bartlett 2

After battling Bartlett to a first-period tie, Dimond reeled off seven goals in the second period to cruise to a 17-2 CIC hockey victory Tuesday at Ben Boeke Arena.

Tanner Rath scored Dimond's first two goals and finished with four. Ten players delivered goals for the Lynx, including four who scored two apiece — Peter Egrass, Shaun Mitchell, Jaiden Gibson and Blaine Orton.

Bartlett goaltender Blayze Denton racked up 51 saves, including 28 in the second period. Cody Bell scored both of Bartlett's goals.

Eagle River 2, Colony 1

Eagle River's Joshua Linn scored the game-winner nearly four minutes into overtime Tuesday to carry his team to a 2-1 nonconference hockey win over Colony at the McDonald Center.

Ben Rinckey gave Eagle River a 1-0 lead with a first-period goal assisted by Sutton McDonald and Linn. McDonald also assisted on the game-winner.

Colony's Jacob Kirch tied the game late in the second period.

Jerimiah Clark stopped 21 shots for Eagle River. Joey Diltz stopped 28 for Colony.
