Dimond's Chandler Lokanin and West's Fiona Fick registered the fastest times Tuesday in the Steel Bucket Relays at Kincaid Park, but neither runner got to celebrate a team victory.
Both competed on teams that placed second in the 4x2-kilometer relay race, an annual dual between West and Dimond.
Lokanin's team finished nearly 30 seconds behind West's winning boys team of Finn Walker, Luke Jager, Foster Birnbaum and Paul Butera.
West went 1-2 in the girls race. Fick's team was more than a minute behind the top team of Maggie York, Kayle Blackmore, Victoria Mayer and JoJo Fleischman.
