Prep volleyball: Wins for South, Dimond, West, Service

South 3, East 2

South battled back from a two-game deficit to take down East in five games in a Cook Inlet Conference volleyball barnburner Friday at East.

Emilye Grace Williams turned in a monster game — 19 kills, 19 digs — to lead the Wolverines to the 26-28, 23-25, 25-19, 26-24, 15-13 win.

Morgan Thompson was close behind with 19 kills and 12 digs, and Kate Declos added 28 digs and two aces for South.

Celeste Filoialli and Nyanuer Bidit both ripped 10 kills and Morgan Zinn and Daisy Page added eight apiece for East. Leona Tau'ese made 19 digs and Celia Sheppard handed out 39 assists.

Service 3, Bartlett 2

Service won the fifth game by two points to survive a five-game CIC volleyball battle with host Bartlett 25-22, 25-17, 20-25, 10-25, 15-13.

Violett Togagae led Bartlett with 12 digs and eight kills. Kendra Camell and Julia Tosi each tallied six kills, with Camell adding six blocks and Tosi service two aces for the Golden Bears. Bartlett's Anna Atafua service six aces.

Dimond 3, Chugiak 0

Alissa Pili's eight kills and 13 digs and Brynn Sulte's six kills and four blocks powered Dimond's sweep of Chugiak in a CIC volleyball match Friday in Chugiak.

Tia Lolotai totaled 13 assists and 11 digs for the Lynx in their 25-18, 25-20, 25-21 triumph.

Chugiak was led by Makenna Girard's 13 assists and two aces, Sinjin Acuna's seven digs and three aces and Sophia Lestina's eight kills.

West 3, Eagle River 0

West's Kaitlin Hampton piled up six kills, four aces and 12 digs Friday in West's CIC volleyball sweep of Eagle River.

Rosie Rush and Kelsey Ross split the setting duties for the Eagles with 11 and nine assists respectively in the 25-12, 25-14, 25-7 victory.
