Mustangs rally late for flag football win over Eagle River

Chugiak capitalized on two late turnovers to score three times in the final four minutes Friday to pull out a 36-7 flag football win over Eagle River in a Cook Inlet Conference game in Chugiak.

Quarterback Chasity Horn engineered three touchdowns for the Mustangs. She threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Marissa Carroll, ran two yards for another touchdown and returned an interception 10 yards for a defensive touchdown.

Horn finished with 112 passing yards and 93 rushing yards to lead the offense. Bolstering the defense were Taylor Rukes with an interception and Eva Palmer with six flag pulls.

Eagle River took a 7-0 halftime lead on Jessi Scott's 80-yard run following a pass from Abby Mampreian.

Kyle Wisdom and Lauryn Green each had seven pulls and Malory Garbe picked off a pass to lead the Eagle River defense.
