T-birds send Dimond to first flag football defeat

East 19, Dimond 0

The East T-birds ended Dimond's undefeated flag football season Tuesday by holding the Lynx scoreless in a 19-0 Cook Inlet Conference game at Dimond.

Sandin Kidder threw for two touchdowns and ran for another and Kendra Luiten pulled nine flags and intercepted a pass to power the T-birds.

East (7-3) scored all of its points in the first half. Kidder bookended a 2-yard touchdown run with touchdown passes to Fua Filoialii and Deja Villareal.

Foloiali had three catches for 70 yards. Villareal made one catch — turning it into a 70-yard touchdown —  and added five pulls on defense. Emily Butcher provided another seven pulls for East.

Dimond (9-1) got a lift on defense from Makenna Boring (seven pulls, one for a loss) and Mariah Youngmun (six pulls, one for a loss).

West 14, Bartlett 8

Isabella Roberts ran back the opening kickoff for a 69-yard touchdown and West defeated Bartlett 14-8 in CIC flag football action at West.

Bartlett scored a safety and a touchdown in the second half to close on West's two-score lead, but the Golden Bears couldn't get over the hump.

Diana Fuerte-Dominguez tossed an 18-yard touchdown for West's other first-half score.

In addition to her special teams heroics, Roberts tallied 87 rushing yards on offense and eight flag pulls on defense.

Ryleigh Robinson snagged four interceptions and four flag pulls, and Maya Baquiran supplied 11 flag pulls for West.

South 12, Eagle River 0

Brandi Sherwood rushed for two touchdowns to lead South past Eagle River 12-0 in a CIC flag football game Tuesday at South.

Sherwood scored on runs of three and 13 yards en route to 67 yards rushing.

South quarterback Alex Kramer completed 7 of 10 passes for 66 yards.

Eagle River got into the red zone twice but was stopped on fourth down both times.

Maddy Ayers led the Wolverine defense with seven flag pulls. Austyn Pedebone and Jazlynn Talaro each had 4 pulls with two for loss.

Chugiak 34, Service 0

Carson Head returned a kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown and picked off two passes Tuesday in Chugiak's 34-0 shutout of Service.

Mustangs quarterback Chasity Horn ran for two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns in the CIC game at Service. Her scoring strikes went to Leilani Fugere and Marissa Carroll.

Briana Panter added an interception for Chugiak.
