The Delta Junction coed soccer team defeated Lumen Christi 2-1 to eliminate the Archangels from the Borealis Conference tournament Saturday in Kenai.
Delta Junction took a 2-0 lead on a first-half goal from Joseph Mock and a second-half goal when the ball took a Delta bounce in the box and scooted past Lumen Christi goalkeeper Shon Nagel.
The Archangels got on the scoreboard late in the game when Jarrett Fortune punched in a pass from Jon Streff with three minutes to play.
Lumen Christi had a chance to tie the game on a penalty kick in the closing minutes, but the shot went wide right.
The Archangels took fifth in the tournament and ended the season with an 8-9-2 record.
