Prep volleyball roundup: Wins for East, Dimond, South, Service

Dimond 3, West 2

Dimond recovered from a first-set loss to defeat West in five sets Wednesday at West in Cook Inlet Conference volleyball play.

The Lynx persevered 22-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 15-7.

Alissa Pili powered the Lynx with 13 kills and 23 digs.

Teuila Lolotai supplied 24 assists and 12 digs, and Brynn Sulte added 12 kills for Dimond.

Rosie Rush led West with 13 kills, 13 digs and four aces.

Kelsey Ross (29 assists), Kaitlin Hamption (8 digs) and Brooke Dexter (5 kills, 3 blocks) also chipped in for the Eagles.

East 3, Bartlett 0

Five players provided six or more kills Wednesday to fuel East's sweep of Bartlett in a Cook Inlet Conference volleyball match.

Leading the T-birds to the 25-23, 25-21, 25-13 victory were Celeste Filolalii (11 kills, 11 digs), Daisy Page (8 kills, 24 digs) and Kyla Liufau (7 aces, 7 kills, 17 digs). Celia Sheppard ran the East offense by handing out 40 assists.

Bartlett got a boost from Taia Todagau's 12 kills and 35 digs and Anna Auafua's 37 assists.

South 3, Chugiak 2

Emilye Grace Williams piled up 16 kills and five blocks, and South edged Chugiak in five sets in Wednesday CIC volleyball action at Chugiak.

Chugiak nearly pulled off the upset, but the Wolverines won the up-and-down match 23-25, 25-6, 22-25, 25-16, 15-5.

South's Zoey Keene and Savanna Davis each registered eight kills. Kate Duclos added a match-high 28 digs.

Emily Moorehead boosted Chugiak with 11 kills and five blocks.

Karlie Jones added 11 kills, three blocks and four aces for the Mustangs.

Service 3, Eagle River 0

Julia Fetko served seven aces and dished 10 assists to spur Service to a sweep of Eagle River in a Wednesday volleyball match at Service.

The Cougars won 25-14, 25-12, 25-21 in a Cook Inlet Conference matchup.

Erin Davis (8 blocks) and Brooklynn Jones (14 digs) led Service on defense, and Erica Christopherson (6 kills) contributed on offense.

For Eagle River, Geena Graf tallied six kills and Hannah Yaw supplied six digs.
