Chugiak 3, Service 2
Chugiak pulled out a five-set victory over Service in a Cook Inlet Conference volleyball thriller Friday at Service.
Karlie Jones pounded 18 kills and Emily Moorhead racked up 13 kills, 11 digs and six aces to lead the Mustangs to the 24-26, 25-22, 25-15, 20-25, 15-10 triumph.
Other big contributors for Chugiak included Hannah Eastman (21 assists, 16 digs), Claire Schimmack (6 aces) and Beka Henckel (16 digs).
Justice Noah's 17 kills and Julia Fetko's 25 assists, 15 digs and two aces carried Service. The Cougars also got a boost from Karisa Davis (11 kills), Erin Davis (6 blocks) and Brooklyn James (26 digs).
Dimond 3, East 1
Alissa Pili delivered 13 kills, 22 digs and five aces Friday to lead Dimond past East in a four-set CIC volleyball match at Dimond.
Brynn Sulte added 13 kills and six blocks and Teuila Lolotai tallied 25 assists and 18 digs for the Lynx in the 25-20, 21-25, 25-19, 25-23 win. Maya Carle and Madeleine Laporte helped out with 25 digs and eight kills, respectively.
East was led by Kyla Liufau and Celeste Filoailli, who both chalked up nine kills and eight digs, with Filoailli adding a pair of aces. The T-birds got 30 assists and three aces from Celia Sheppard and 23 digs and three aces from Leona Tau'ese.
South 3, West 1
Emilye Grace Williams blasted 15 kills to fuel South's four-set win over West in a CIC volleyball match Friday at South.
Kate Duclos served five aces and came up with 27 digs for South in the 24-26, 25-22, 25-12, 25-16 victory. Zoey Keene added eight kills and Emma Kleven finished with 36 assists and nine digs.
For West, Kelsey Ross handed out 25 assists and made nine digs. Rosie Rush furnished nine kills and 12 digs and Brooke Dexter had eight kills and four aces.
