Prep flag football: Shutouts for Dimond, Service, West, East

Dimond 32, Chugiak 0

Dimond stayed undefeated in Cook Inlet Conference flag football play with a 32-0 shutout of defending CIC champion Chugiak on Tuesday.

The Lynx (4-0) scored twice on defense on interception returns by Meghen Jones and Seanne Bialo, and Dimond held quarterback Chasity Horn and the Chugiak offense at bay.

Dimond's Angeline Nageak added seven flag pulls and Makenna Boring tallied four pulls, two for loss.

On offense, Victoria Johansen caught three passes for 83 and two touchdowns, and Savanna Wallace garnered four catches for 71 yards and one score.

Service 44, Eagle River 0

Autumn Blair returned the opening kick off 85 yards for a touchdown and Service never looked back in a 44-0 CIC victory over Eagle River.

Quarterback Katie Pearce spearheaded the Service offense with four touchdowns and 259 yards of total offense.

Jocelyn Shanonto (9 pulls) and Ashlynn Noethlick (1 interception) boosted the Cougars defense.

West 27, Bartlett 0

Four games into the season and the West flag football team is yet to allow a touchdown.

The Eagle earned their fourth shut out of the season, 27-0 over Bartlett in a Tuesday CIC game at West.

Rebecca Syrup reeled off three first-half touchdown passes to lead the West offense.

She went 15 of 23 for 176 yards passing with touchdown passes to Naynay John, Maya Baquiran and Varinah Cruz.

Baquiran powered the West defense with seven pulls, two for loss, and two interceptions. Isabella Roberts added seven pulls, two for loss.

Bartlett's defense was paced by Ayanna Lauofo (8 pulls) and Kianna McWhite (6 pulls).

East 6, South 0

East's Jessica Titzel scored on a 95-yard interception return with one minute remaining in the game to carry the T-birds over South 6-0 in a CIC showdown Tuesday at East.

Titzel propelled the East defense with five flag pulls and two interceptions in the defensive battle.

Kalina Cross lead the team in flag pulls with 11, followed by Tatum Epperson with nine and Aniyah Dean with six.

Quarterback Fua Filoialii compiled 150 yards of total offense for East.
